Our Beliefs

We invite you to explore our beliefs and join us in our pursuit of living out our faith in boldness and passion.

  • The Trinity

We believe in the teaching of the Trinity, which states God is one essence, existing in three persons - God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The three persons of the Trinity are distinct and unified, co-existing in perfect harmony. The three members of the Trinity have shared an eternal love relationship with each other that is a model for how God’s people are to relate to each other as husbands and wives, family members, church members, friends, acquaintances and even strangers. We believe that the Trinity is an essential part of understanding God and His purpose for us. By embracing the Trinity, we can have a deeper relationship with the Lord and better understand His will for our lives.

  • The Bible

We believe the Bible is a collection of 66 books written by human authors as they were divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Bible can be trusted to be true in everything it says. It is a living book that is effective at revealing both the nature of God and the heart and soul of the one reading it. The Bible serves as our standard for living in relation to God and in relation with one another, teaching us how to live with character, wisdom and integrity. The Bible shows us the path to a relationship wtih God through the blood that Jesus Christ shed for us on the cross. We believe that by reading and studying the Bible, we are able to draw closer to God and deepen our understanding of His love.

  • Jesus

We believe Jesus Christ is the divine Son of God who came to earth to take on human flesh. He was fully human and fully divine as he lived a sinless life and offered himself as a sacrifice on the cross. On the cross, he was our representative as he took the blame for our sins and paid for them with his blood.

We also believe Jesus rose from the dead, giving evidence of his divine nature and breaking the power of death in becoming the first fruits of the resurrection, signaling that as Christ rose from the dead, others will rise as well.

The goal of the Christian life is to become more like Christ in how we live, love and serve others. His character of love, forgiveness, humility and faithfulness is the standard for living that we strive for through the power of the Holy Spirit.

  • Salvation

We believe salvation can only be found in Jesus Christ. It is a work of God’s grace through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Salvation is not a result of works, but good works always are the fruit of a heart that has been filled and saved by Jesus Christ.

Salvation provides a personal and intimate relationship with Jesus here on this earth and in the life to come. Through breaking the power of sin on the cross and the chains of death at the tomb, Jesus has prepared for us an eternal life with him in heaven where neither death, nor pain, grief, nor sickness can enter.

When Christ forgives his children, he places the seal of the Holy Spirit upon their heart that can’t be broken. Christians will sin, even sometimes wander away from the faith and truth, but the Holy Spirit will continue to strive with them to convict them of their sin and lead them back to Him. So salvation is something that cannot be lost. It is gained by grace and not works and it is maintained through the grace of God and not our own deeds.

  • Baptism

We believe God calls all believers to be baptized to demonstrate to the world what Jesus Christ has already done in our lives. We follow Jesus’ example of baptism by immersion as the proper mode of baptism, also noting the word for baptism literally means immersion.

Immersion in water paints the picture of our sins being buried with Jesus in his death as the person goes under the water and of the new life we have in Jesus Christ in his resurrection and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit as the person comes up out of the water.

Baptism is not required for salvation, but it is also not an option for someone who wants to follow Christ as a disciple. iIt serves as a personal confession of a person’s faith in God.

  • Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit as a member of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit indwells each believer, providing guidance, comfort, understanding, power and strength to live out the teachings of the Bible in our daily lives.

The Holy Spirit helps reveal God’s truth to believers as they read the Word of God. Without the illumination of the Spirit, the truth would be beyond the comprehension of minds infected with the nature of sin.

The Holy Spirit provides each believer with certain spiritual gifts, including wisdom, knowledge, understanding, healing, miracles, tongues, teaching, hospitality and prophecy. The Holy Spirit provides each believer with at least one gift but no person is blessed with every gift. The gifts are meant to be used to serve God and others as we share the good news of Christ’s love with others.

  • The Church

We believe the church is an assembly of believers united together through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ. The church acts as a community that unites together to help each other grow in the faith, reach out to others with the gospel and serve the needs of the community.

The church is not a thing, but a body of individual believers who are called to love one another, build up one another and strengthen one another in the faith of Jesus Christ.

It is our hope this church will serve as a place where people can come to walk with fellow believers on their journey to Christlikeness. The church should provide a place where people can share burdens together, ask questions together, pray together, cry together, laugh together and grow in Christ together.

The church is a family with Jesus Christ as its founder and head. As we connect with one another, we always keep our eyes focused on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.

  • Prayer

We believe prayer is the connecting point between God and man. It is made possible through the once-and-for-all sacrifice of Jesus Christ that gives us access to the throne room of God in heaven.

Prayer is how we talk with God and draw closer to Him. It is an essential part of the Christian life and is the vehicle God uses to provide us guidance, strength, healing, protection and his power in our lives.

Prayer includes praise and adoration of God, confession of our sins, thanksgiving for his blessings and requests that we make to him. But prayer is more than just the words we say to God, but prayer is the way we listen to Him as we meditate on his nature and his words to us.
